Chocolate Smoothie

Sometimes, having chocolate is a healthy choice. This smoothie is full of fruity banana, pea protein for substance, chia seeds, coconut and cocoa. Read on to make it!

This chocolate smoothie is a great choice for those hot days when you crave a chocolate milkshake but want a healthier option. This really does taste like a milkshake. And if you add ice and frost it up, it has the thick consistency of one of those ice cream milkshakes we all love.

Ingredients and method

Makes 2 drinks

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tsp pea protein (you can use any protein powder you want or even leave it out completely)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1-2 tsp good quality cocoa powder
  • 1 tbs cocoa nibs
  • 1 mug milk
  • 1 tbs agave syrup
  • 1 tbs coconut oil (this has been shown to be a great energy booster)
  • 1 mug ice cubes
  1. Put all the ingredients in your blender and blitz slowly, increasing your speed gradually to save your blender blades. Blend to the consistency you like (if it’s too thin, add a bit more banana and ice, and if it’s too thick, add more milk). Pour out into your favourite glasses and add a glass straw.
