Everyone loves a green smoothie. Okay, some people think they look a bit … Shrek-like … but I’m here to tell you that a green smoothie is a delicious, sweet, nutritious drink and there are lots of ways you can make them.
In this smoothie, I use a mix of sweet mango and kiwi with the goodness of spinach. I’ve tried other green leaves but spinach is always the best in my opinion. It’s full of nutrients but it doesn’t dominate the flavour of your smoothie as a lot of green-smoothie-haters believe.
I also opted for aloe vera juice instead of milk in this smoothie because sometimes I find a creamy smoothie a bit much. Plus, aloe vera juice adds a nice sweetness to the drink.
Ingredients and method
- 1 banana
- 1/2 avocado
- Handful frozen mango
- 1 kiwi
- 2 tsp pea protein (optional)
- 200 ml aloe vera juice
- 1 mug spinach
- 1 mug of ice
- Put all the ingredients in your blender with the fruit at the bottom and the ice on the top. Blend until smooth and pour out into two of your poshest glasses or smoothie bottles. A glass straw is a must.
