Avo-banana vanilla smoothie

I love a smoothie to start my day, and what I love most is that there’s a smoothie for every mood. This creamy banana smoothie is the perfect mellow mix to satisfy your smoothie craving when you’re not in the mood to go down the berry or citrus road. It’s also packed with healthy ingredients to start your day the perfect way.

Ingredients

1 banana, sliced

1/2 avocado

2tbs oats

2tbs Greek yoghurt

1tsp vanilla extract

1tbs maple syrup

150ml coconut water

100ml milk of your choice

5-6 ice cubes

Optional: square of 70-80% dark chocolate

Note for making smoothies:

Put the liquids into the blender first. This helps the blades work through the ingredients much easier.

Method

  1. First, put the liquids into your blender, followed by the oats, banana, avocado, yoghurt, maple syrup, vanilla extract and ice. Blend.
  2. Once the smoothie is well blended, now is the time you can add in the optional square of chocolate. Blitz until the chocolate turns into little chocolate specks in the smoothie.
  3. Pour out into two glasses and top with a kiss of Greek yoghurt. Mwah.
